• Striking 3-piece back with rosewood sides makes for an upscale look
• Takamine's compensated saddle keeps intonation correct
• TK40D preamp has a built in tuner, 3-band eq, gain controls, mid countour switch, notch filter, and EQ bypass for complete flexibility in tonal shaping
• Natural finish is glossy and makes for a gorgeous finish
• Parlor size body makes this an incredibly comfortable instrument
• Smaller body size also makes for a more focused and articulate acoustic tone
Ever since Takamine came into existence in 1962, they've been pushing the envelope when it comes to acoustic guitars. They were actually one of the first guitar makers to manufacture an acoustic/electric instrument. Even today, Takamine continues to experiment with their designs by scaling down size, adding different components in their preamps, and even adorning instruments with radical inlay work. The New Yorker (GY93E) is made in that same spirit of innovation. Though the body size is scaled down to what's commonly known as a "parlor" shape, it is still a full-size instrument. Smaller bodies like this make for a more focused and articulate sound. They balance this out by using a solid spruce top and 3-piece back and sides to add some presence and warmth. Also included in this model is the TK40D preamp which lets you shape your sound right from the guitar before the signal even gets to the amp. The preamp features a built-in tuner, 3 band eq, mid contour switch, volume, and a notch filter. With the fantastic build of this instrument coupled with a feature-rich preamp, this guitar lives up to Takamine's tradition of innovation.
