Behringer’s Surges is a voltage-controlled multimode low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass filter based on Mutable Instruments Ripples and classic SH/Jupiter filters of the late 1970s. The purely analog design boasts 2464 and 13700-styled semiconductors, bringing liquid-smooth, classic analog character, and attitude to Eurorack in a small, 8-HP package.

The next in a whole new batch of super-affordable modules from Behringer, Surges's straightforward operation begins with two input paths—a clean unity gain and one with a level control for processing line-level signals or introducing rich analog distortion. The Frequency control knob gives you access to a wide range of 18 Hz to 18 kHz with a highly musical resonance curve. At the heart of Surges, Band, high, and low pass filters can all be used simultaneously and feature switchable (12dB)2-pole or (24dB) 4-pole for low pass and band pass filters. CV inputs include resonance and cutoff modulation, Volt/octave, LPF output level, and filter switch.
