The HDX card boasts 3–7 times the processing power of a single HD Accel card. That's a ton of DSP! What's more, there's a separate FPGA processor for your mix bus, so all of your HDX card's DSP power is dedicated to running plug-ins. If you're into music composition or deal with high track counts on a regular basis, you'll love the expanded voice capacity of HDX. HDX can support up to 768 voices — four times the internal routing flexibility of HD Accel! That means you can run more plug-ins and virtual instruments than ever before.

Each HDX card supports up to four Avid HD interfaces — for a total of 64 inputs and outputs, which is more than enough to run high-track-count sessions. And if you need more power, you can simply add more HDX cards to build the perfect system for your studio. What's more, HDX technology was built around Avid's new AAX plug-in format, supporting 32-bit floating-point processing between plug-ins. Add to that a 64-bit floating-point summing bus, and the improved audio quality of HDX is simply the best.
