Welcome to Alto Music NYC's online home.

We do things a little different around here. Actually, VERY different. Our store, isn't much like a store at all – it's a studio. All the top gear, plugged in and ready to go, dying to be tweaked and twiddled - Hardware AND Software. Most importantly, our very own Dr. Koss is on call to integrate and innovate – finding the right solutions and suggestions to get your studio performing to the best of its ability.

Throughout this site, you'll find info on upcoming seminars and how to schedule an appointment at our showroom. Also, be sure to check out Dr. Koss' blog where you can pick up tips and tricks and get a sneak peak at the inner workings of a mad scientist's mind…

Was psyched to have Tobias Lindell in the Alto NYC location yesterday.  Super nice guy and this is one badass compressor.  With knobs that practically beg you to crank them - the sonic results are instantly pleasing.  This thing is built like a tank and is great for slamming the shit out of drums or vocals.  Then you can use the mix knob to mix in the original signal - huge.  Plus you have the option of engaging the LP and HP filters for some interesting effects.  Give me a buzz if you'd … [Read More...]
